Pointer

Draw attention to important map features in real-time. Collaborate with your players using the interactive Pointer Tool. This real-time pointing feature helps Game Masters and players direct attention to specific locations on the battlemap, making it easier to coordinate tactics, highlight important features, or answer questions about the scene.

To start, click the pointer icon or press "P" on your keyboard to activate the Pointer Tool. Once enabled, your cursor becomes a glowing, animated pointer that's visible to all participants in the session.

How It Works

When you activate the Pointer Tool and move your cursor across the map, an animated pointer appears at your cursor location. This pointer:

• Shows your identity: Your username appears next to your pointer so everyone knows who is pointing

• Animated trail: Features a smooth, glowing tail that follows your movement, making it easy to track gestures

• Real-time collaboration: All players and the GM can see each other's pointers simultaneously

• Auto-hides: Your pointer automatically disappears when you switch to another tool

Use Cases

The Pointer Tool is perfect for:

• Tactical coordination: "Move your character here" or "The enemy is coming from that direction"

• Highlighting map features: Drawing attention to hidden doors, traps, or points of interest

• Teaching and onboarding: Helping new players understand the interface and map layout

• Question and answer: Players can point to locations while asking the GM questions

• Combat planning: Coordinating strategy and movement during battle

Visual Design

The pointer appears as a glowing circle with a trailing tail that smoothly follows your movement. The tail automatically shrinks when you stop moving and disappears when stationary, keeping the map clean and uncluttered.

Each user's pointer has a unique color (customizable based on user settings), making it easy to distinguish between multiple people pointing at once.

Keyboard Shortcut

You can quickly access the Pointer Tool by pressing "P" on your keyboard.
