Campaigns
Campaigns are where GMs and players come together to tell a story.
To create a campaign, first navigate to the plus symbol at the bottom left of the app or the Create A Campaign button on the homepage, which will add a new Untitled Campaign to your campaign list. You can also have the Assistant create a campaign for you using Game Master Assistant
You will then have access to Campaign Owner options and be assumed to be the GM. If this is not the case then you will need to transfer ownership. See below (Duplication and Ownership).
Name and Artwork
You can rename the campaign by clicking on the title (up to 50 characters).
You can replace the logo of the campaign by clicking on the logo and selecting a file to upload. A square image is best.
You can replace the cover by moving your mouse to the cover area. Two buttons will appear, Change Cover and Reposition. You can upload images and move them as needed.
Campaign Settings
To access the Campaign Settings, you can either click the drop down menu under the logo in the top right, clicking "Custom system" button under the campaign name, or the ellipsis towards the centre and selecting Campaign Settings.
From here, you can search for a TTRPG system in the drop down menu. This is important to for your Assistant to be set to a system to be able to use and cite the correct references with respect to the campaign.
You can also turn Session Stories on or off, toggle Ambient Canvas and decide to Delete the campaign.

Setting a Template for your Campaign
In Campaign, navigate to the Campaign Settings. There is an option to set a Character Sheet Template. Clicking this gives you a menu where you can find Templates you are an author of, Quest Portal’s Featured templates or any shared with you that correspond with the game system you choose.
Once a Character Sheet Template has been selected, any new character sheets made from within this campaign will use the template chosen to create editable character sheets - for both players and the GM.
Check out Character Sheet Templates for more information.
Setting an Art Style for your Campaign
In Campaign, navigate to Campaign Settings. There is an option to choose an Art Style that will determine the overall look of any art generated by the Game Master Assistant for you campaing or to enter a custom art prompt if none of the Art Styles fit your vision of how the campaign should look. Once the Art Style has been selected any further art should follow the selected style.
Invite Players
Please note that the current limit for sessions is 16 people, including the GM. Please contact support@questportal.com if you run into any problems.
Invite players with the Invite Players button, located to the bottom right of the cover, in the character sheet section in the center of the landing page or by clicking the ellipsis.
When you click Invite Players you will be presented with two options:
A link to copy and paste to your players.
If you know the player's Quest Portal account name, you can send them an invite from within the app.
Accepting an invite from within Quest Portal
Your notification bell (top right next to your account avatar) will indicate there is something to be alerted about by displaying a red circle.
By clicking the bell, you'll be able to see who sent you the invite, the campaign name and an option to accept or decline the invite.
Removing a Character or Player
From the landing page, to remove a player use the ellipsis on their character card and select the Remove Character or Remove Player option depending. You will be asked if you are sure.
From within the session, go to their character sheet, click on the ellipsis. You will be presented with the Remove Character and Remove Player options. you will be asked if you are sure.
Leaving a Campaign as a player
You can leave a campaign in one of two ways:
from the landing page, click the ellipsis and then Leave Campaign.
from your character sheet (either in the session or on the landing page).
Duplication and Transferring
If you find yourself in a circumstance where you want to create a copy of your campaign - you would run the same game for multiple groups or you set up a module you want to share - then you can do this by going into the ellipsis on the session landing page. Click the Duplicate Campaign.
A few moments later a duplicate will appear with all your existing notes, NPCs and scenes. This duplicate is independent of the original, so you can customize for your new group.
Transferring
In order to transfer ownership of a campaign - either because you are not the GM or because you want to be able to share your module to another GM - you must have the person you wish to transfer it to be in the campaign. To transfer, click the ellipsis on the campaign's landing page and click Transfer Campaign.
You will be asked to choose a player. The notification will then change to indicate the status of pending, and offers you the ability to revoke the invite.
For the potential new owner, this will appear as a notification that is accessible and acceptable (or declined) through their notification bell.
Please note, that private notes are not transferred currently.
We offer the following tip:
The Transferer before transferring, puts all the GM notes into a folder called GM Notes and places in the campaign notes.
The New Owner move the folder meant for your eyes only into your private notes.
