The cantina is a darkened single room with booths along the walls. A Twi'lek woman dances to pre-recorded music on the stage in the far end.
There seems to be some sort of storage closet behind the bar. You know the Gamorreans are right behind you; you'll have to hide quick.

Settings

The setting spans a galaxy with thousands of star systems, each with planets, moons, and phenomena. It includes iconic locations like Tatooine, Coruscant, Hoth, and Endor, among many others.

While the game primarily focuses on the era of the Galactic Civil War, where the Rebel Alliance struggles against the Galactic Empire (as seen in the original trilogy), it can be adapted to different periods in the Star Wars timeline, including the Clone Wars, the era of the Galactic Republic, or the time of the First Order and the Resistance.

The Star Wars universe is rich with a multitude of species and cultures, from humans to Wookiees, Twi'leks, Rodians, and many more, each with its unique societies and traditions. A mystical and binding energy field, the Force plays a central role in the universe. Players can explore the paths of the Jedi or Sith, harnessing the Force for good or evil. Space travel is a key element, with hyperdrive technology enabling interstellar journeys. Space battles, piloting starships, and exploring new worlds are significant aspects of the game.

The setting is rife with political intrigue, ranging from the Galactic Senate's machinations to the Empire's authoritarian rule and the Rebel Alliance's guerrilla tactics. Advanced technology is prevalent, including blasters, lightsabers, starships, and droids, each playing a crucial role in the galaxy's functioning and the stories that unfold. The game draws upon the extensive lore established by the Star Wars films, animated series, novels, comics, and other media, providing a deep and rich context for adventures.

Star Wars RPG is divided into three core rulebooks, each focusing on a different aspect of the universe:

  • Edge of the Empire. Focused on the fringes of the galaxy, dealing with smugglers, bounty hunters, and criminals.
  • Age of Rebellion. Centered around the conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, suitable for stories of soldiers and spies.
  • Force and Destiny. Dedicated to Force-sensitive characters, exploring the mysteries of the Force and the legacy of the Jedi.
