Streaming Policy

1. What this policy is for

Quest Portal wants its users to understand which partner content may be used when they stream or publish an actual-play session and how that content must be attributed.

Quest Portal displays the streaming status and attribution information it has received from content partners. Quest Portal does not sublicense partner content or take responsibility for how a user distributes a stream. Each user is responsible for checking the status shown in Quest Portal, including the required attribution in every publication, and following the applicable platform rules.

Automated copyright systems and third-party claimants can still make mistakes. Quest Portal cannot promise that a stream will never be flagged, muted, interrupted, claimed, or removed. Users should contact Quest Portal if they receive a claim they cannot resolve using the displayed information.

2. Who and what this policy covers

This policy applies to a registered Quest Portal user who streams or publishes people playing, discussing, or presenting a tabletop roleplaying game through Quest Portal.

A covered publication may be:

• a live audiovisual or audio-only actual-play stream;
• the resulting VOD or replay;
• a clip or highlight; or
• an actual-play podcast episode.

Every person using Quest Portal is a registered user and accepts Quest Portal's Terms and this policy when using the service. The user or channel owner who publishes a covered publication remains responsible for that publication.

This policy applies worldwide on generally available streaming and podcast platforms unless Quest Portal displays a partner-specific platform or territory restriction.

3. Streaming status

Quest Portal will aim for consistent permissions across its streaming catalog. If a publication contains content with different permissions, the most restrictive item determines the status of the entire publication. Quest Portal may lower the displayed status of all streaming content to a common, more-restrictive level when necessary to keep the user experience clear and safe.

4. Monetization

A publication is monetized if the user or channel owner receives or expects to receive money or other commercial value connected to it. This includes:

• platform advertising revenue;
• subscriptions or paid memberships;
• sponsorships or paid placements;
• affiliate revenue;
• paid access; and
• tips or donations promoted or collected in connection with the program.

Advertising inserted solely by a platform, where neither the user nor channel owner receives revenue or other value from it, does not by itself make a publication monetized under this policy.

A publication may be monetized only when every included partner asset is marked Streaming Safe — Monetization Approved for the applicable revenue type. If any included asset is approved only for non-monetized use, the user must keep the entire publication non-monetized or remove that asset from every published version.

If a user is unsure whether their channel or publication is monetized, they should treat it as monetized until Quest Portal or the relevant content partner confirms otherwise.

5. Attribution in every publication

Attribution is required in every separate publication containing Streaming Safe content.

The user must copy the attribution supplied by Quest Portal and:

1. include it in the description, show notes, or other persistent text accompanying a live stream;
2. include it in the description of every VOD or replay;
3. include it in every separately posted clip or highlight; and
4. include it in the show notes or description of every podcast episode.

If a live platform does not support a description, the user must place the attribution in a persistent channel panel or pinned message during the stream and add it to any resulting VOD before leaving the VOD publicly available.

The user must preserve the partner name, link, licence notice, and any other wording Quest Portal supplies. A link to a parent stream or Quest Portal manifest replaces a full credit only when the displayed partner instructions expressly allow that approach.

Attribution does not make unapproved content Streaming Safe.

Correcting an attribution mistake

If Quest Portal or a content partner gives specific notice of an accidental attribution omission or formatting error, the user has seven calendar days to correct it.

This correction period does not apply to intentional misrepresentation, standalone redistribution, repeat abuse, or another use outside this policy. Quest Portal cannot guarantee that a platform or claimant will wait for the correction period before taking action.

6. Uses this policy does not cover

This policy does not cover:

• source-asset downloads or standalone redistribution;
• music-only, ambience-only, radio-style, playlist, soundboard, compilation, or DJ broadcasts;
• altering the partner music or ambience itself, including changing its pitch or speed, rearranging it, applying effects to it, removing or isolating parts of it, sampling it, remixing it, extracting it, or selling it;
• registering partner content or a publication containing it in Content ID or another automated rights-enforcement system;
• claiming ownership of partner content or implying partner endorsement;
• a trailer, advertisement, brand film, channel ident, or other promotional production unless that use is separately approved;
• monetization outside the types expressly displayed for every included asset;
• content marked Not Stream Safe or Unverified; or
• user uploads, game-system publications, artwork, video, audio, or other material that is not specifically marked Streaming Safe.

Using Quest Portal's ordinary playback controls—such as playing, pausing, looping, fading, changing volume, and crossfading—and mixing unchanged playback with live speech does not by itself alter the partner music.

After a session is recorded, the user may edit the actual-play recording as a whole, including making cuts, clips, highlights, captions, level adjustments, compression, mixes, and platform transcodes. The user must not extract or separately edit the partner music, and must keep the supplied attribution in every resulting publication.

7. User responsibility

The user is responsible for:

• deciding where and how to distribute the publication;
• accurately describing whether it is monetized;
• using only content whose displayed status covers that publication;
• placing and maintaining the required attribution in every post;
• obtaining permission for user uploads and all other material in the publication;
• complying with privacy, publicity, game-publisher, and platform rules; and
• responding truthfully to copyright claims and platform notices.

Quest Portal uses reasonable efforts to keep partner status and attribution information current. Quest Portal does not guarantee that the information will always be complete, error-free, or immediately updated after a partner or rights administrator changes its position.

Quest Portal is not responsible for a user's missing or inaccurate attribution, use outside the displayed permission, platform configuration, or other misuse. Nothing in this policy limits responsibility that Quest Portal cannot lawfully exclude.

8. Claims, mutes, and interruptions

A Streaming Safe label and the supplied attribution are evidence of the permission information Quest Portal displayed for the publication. They do not guarantee that an automated system, claimant, platform, or rights administrator will not flag, mute, interrupt, claim, remove, or strike the publication, or that Quest Portal or a partner will be able to prevent or release a claim.

If a publication is claimed, muted, interrupted, or removed, the user should:

1. preserve the platform notice, claimant name, identified content or timestamp, publication URL, and date;
2. check that the content was marked Streaming Safe for the publication and that the required attribution is present;
3. use the platform's ordinary dispute process only when the user is comfortable that the information is accurate; and
4. contact Quest Portal at support@questportal.com if the user cannot resolve the claim without help.

Quest Portal may provide the partner and attribution information it holds and may contact the relevant partner or rights administrator. Quest Portal does not promise a response or resolution within a particular time.

If a live stream is at risk, the user may need to mute or stop the identified content to protect the channel while the issue is investigated. A counter-notification is a legal process; this policy does not instruct a user to submit one or replace independent legal advice.

9. Effective date and policy changes

This policy applies only to covered publications first published on or after the date this policy is published. It does not retroactively classify or approve earlier streams, VODs, clips, highlights, or podcasts.

For a live stream, the status displayed when the stream begins is Quest Portal's streaming-safety record for that stream. For a separately published recording, VOD, replay, clip, highlight, or podcast, the status displayed when that publication is first published is Quest Portal's record for that publication. Required attribution must remain with every publication.

Quest Portal may update, restrict, suspend, or remove a streaming status when a licence, partner instruction, rights administrator, or other circumstance changes. Quest Portal cannot guarantee that a licence or Streaming Safe status will remain unchanged. Changes apply to future streams and publications, including new uploads, reuploads, clips, highlights, and podcast episodes created after the change.

An earlier status records the information Quest Portal displayed at that time, but it does not promise that a partner, claimant, or platform will continue to treat the publication the same way. Quest Portal may not know which user streams or publications included an asset whose status later changes. Quest Portal does not promise to identify affected publications or notify potentially affected users. Users should check the current status before every new stream or publication.

10. Relationship to Quest Portal's Terms

This policy is incorporated into Quest Portal's Terms and Conditions as a specific exception to the general restriction on publishing or transmitting content from Quest Portal. The exception applies only to registered users, content marked Streaming Safe, covered publication types, and the conditions stated here.

This exception is not a sublicense from Quest Portal. The user remains responsible for the publication and for complying with the partner information, attribution requirements, platform terms, and applicable law.

All other Quest Portal Terms continue to apply. This policy does not remove rights a user may independently have under a separate licence or applicable law.
