Account Management

Account Settings

You can access your Account Settings by clicking your portrait in the top right of the page. From here you can get to Account Settings to change your Display Name, Email address and Avatar. 

You can change your avatar by clicking on the image and uploading a .jpg, .png, or .webp image file. This will be shown wherever your account name is displayed, and in the voice chat within a session.

You can change your Display name by clicking your name (next to the Avatar Image). This is the name that will be displayed within a Campaign, in sessions and as owners of any Templates that you share.

You can also change your account name by clicking Edit Username. This name needs to be unique, and cannot contain spaces, capital letters, special characters or numbers.

You can change your email address by clicking Edit Email, entering your new email address. You will be prompted to log out for security reasons. Log in again and repeat the process. you will then receive an email with a verification link. Click that. Log in with your new email to complete the process,

Note: Accounts created with Google or Apple cannot currently change their email addresses as the account is tied to your Google or Apple accounts. Please email support@questportal.com for assistance.

Account Types

Free account: with our free account you have access to unlimited Campaigns, unlimited Characters, unlimited Character Sheet Templates, claimable campaigns, our Notes, our chat, our maps, our premade scenes and assets… everything except the AI Tools and Chaosium core books. You can play and/or GM on Quest Portal without needing any kind of paid subscription.

Quest Portal Pro: if you want tools that have been designed to give confidence to newer GMs, or speed up the prep for experienced GMs, or help the player who needs to check a rule or spell while they’re waiting for their turn in initiative, then you will want a Quest Portal Pro Subscription.

This gives you access to the AI Assistant, the AI Notes, Library Link (giving access to any books you have available, like Chaosium Core) and the AI Avatar generator. Quest Portal Pro is $8 per month or $72 per year (which is the equivalent of $6 a month).

Chaosium Core: Our partnership with Chaosium allows a subscriber of Chaosium core to access a range of Call of Cthulhu, Runequest and Pendragon books.

If I have Pro, do my players need Pro? My GM has Pro, do I? I have Pro, but my GM doesn’t?

There is no need for everyone in your group to have pro, or anyone to have a Pro subscription. You can play together, no matter what kind of account you have.

Renew or Cancel your subscriptions

It happens that sometimes you need to pause or cancel your subscription: it happens. And you can easily stop or restart your subscription (if you purchased it through the web browser) - in the web browser. Access your Account Settings by clicking your portrait in the top right of the page. From here you can get to Quest Portal Pro. Click Manage Subscription and follow the onscreen prompts to Cancel or Renew your plan.

Email Notifications

To turn off or turn back on email notifications about Session Stories, Access your Account Settings by clicking your portrait in the top right of the page. From here you can click Notifications. You can also come back at any time and turn it back on.

Deleting your account

Before considering an account deletion, reach out to us and let us know what we can do to help! 

Deleting an account is a big step as you will lose character sheets, campaigns, notes, sessions, templates - and it cannot be recovered if you change your mind. 

We highly recommend that you make sure to cancel your subscriptions BEFORE you delete your account as you will be charged. 

Notification Bell

Next to your profile picture in the top right is a notification bell. You’ll get all sorts of notifications sent here for your attention: from campaign invites, to campaign transfer requests, to players leaving, to session story announcements to even letting you know about big features we just launched!

Click the bell to see your notifications.
